Family moved here in 1955 when Wayne was 2 years old. Wayne's parents: Jack, a State Trooper, and Onaise, a teacher for 32 years, Pruett
Wayne's wife: Carrie Sue Dye
The Pruett family owned the Portland Roller Rink for several years and were responsible for bringing the first Dairy Queen to Portland that was attached to the roller rink.
Wayne also has the distinction of being a part of the only official basketball game to be played on the brand new parquet floor in the gym at the old Jr. High school just 2 nights before the school burned in December 1967.
Wayne also talks about how the Portland Little League and Babe Ruth ball fields got their start as well as several of the other youth sports that are now so popular in Portland.
